Approach
Cactuso didn’t want to be just another Mexican restaurant. They wanted character, they wanted energy, and most importantly, they wanted soul.
Cactuso wasn’t trying to be overly traditional or cliché. It wasn’t about sombreros, chili peppers, or stock imagery of tacos. It was about reimagining the Mexican dining experience for a new audience: one that values vibe as much as flavor.
At the heart of the brand is the mascot. A playful, expressive cactus character we crafted from scratch. Not just a logo, but a symbol of hospitality, mischief, and charm.
We didn’t want Cactuso’s type to be generic or off-the-shelf. So we created a custom wordmark and headline type that draws from Mexican hand-lettering and vintage street food signage, then refined it with modern geometry and balance.
We didn’t shy away from color. In fact, we turned it all the way up. Cactuso’s color palette is built around maximum contrast:
Bright Yellow for energy, warmth, and appetite
Rich Purple for uniqueness and royalty (a nod to flavor and elevation)
Matte Black for depth, edge, and grounding
This trio makes the brand pop on any surface, digital or physical. It's bold enough to turn heads, modern enough to feel fresh, and distinct enough to be unmistakably Cactuso.
Together, they create a vibe that’s unapologetically alive, like a neon sign that’s always on.
